Agnes Stanhope

Pembroke and Machias – On August 15, 2008, God called his angel Agnes Stanhope home. Agnes was a woman, who although had no biological children, was loved by any son or daughter whose life she touched. She lived her life caring for others. To know love, kindness and laughter was to know Agnes. Born on August 19, 1921 to Ernest and Myrtie Carter, Agnes lived her life in the Down East Community. Agnes was predeceased by her sister, Alicia in 2006. She is survived by several cousins and step nieces and nephews. Agnes was especially close to her niece Karen Stevens; and Karen’s two oldest granddaughters, Makayla and Kelsi Newell who for 8 years always enjoyed opening Agnes’ gifts for her at Christmas and other special times. She also leaves behind the wonderful staff at Marshall’s Health Care, who for 8 years made Agnes feel she was home. Thank you all for your love and kindness to her.
