Obituary for Albert Williams Carter Jr.

Alexander – Albert Williams Carter Jr., 78, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Albert was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 19, 1936, son of the late Albert and Edith (Olson) Carter Sr. After graduating from Princeton High School in New Jersey he enlisted in the New Jersey National Guard where he served as a tank driver. On December 12, 1955, Albert enlisted in the US Navy where he served on the USS Lexington CVA-16. Following his enlistment, he returned home to New Jersey where he met Hazel Valone. They were soon married on June 14, 1963. They eventually moved to Maine in 1978 where he worked as a carpenter until his retirement. Albert was a member of Church of the Open Bible in Alexander and several archery clubs. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and archery.

In addition to his parents, Albert was predeceased by his loving wife Hazel. Surviving are his son Kurt Carter of Alexander; two grandchildren, Kelly and Taylor Carter; and a daughter-in-law Lori Carter of Calais.

In keeping with Albert’s wishes there will be no services. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
