Albin Dennis McCray

Baileyville – Albin Dennis McCray, 69, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his home. Albin was born in Baileyville on April 8, 1938, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Merritt) McCray. He married Gladys Hanson in Calais on April 12, 1968. Albin was employed with Georgia Pacific for over 25 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of People’s United Methodist Church and the Quarter Century Club with Georgia Pacific. Albin enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother, Freda McCray; two brothers, Merritt and Charles McCray; and a special aunt, Barbara Boomer. Surviving are his loving wife of over 39 years, Gladys McCray; his son, Corey McCray of Baileyville; three sisters, Patsy Hill and her husband Earl of Alexander, Barbara Hickok and her husband Tom of Matthews, NC, and Jill Hamilton and her husband Lyle of Princeton; three brothers, Edward McCray of South Meriden, CT, Cecil Moreside and his wife Irene of Calais, and Chester McCray and his wife Shirley of Baileyville; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Bernie Hammond officiating.
