Crawford – Aldena Beatrice Moraisey, 77, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at a Machias nursing home. Aldena was born in St. Stephen, NB on September 13, 1935, daughter of the late James and Marion (Richardson) Higgins. She worked as a waitress until she married Walter Moraisey on October 20, 1954. Aldena held various jobs including raking blueberries, working in a local shoe factory and making wreaths. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and saving family photo albums. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Walter; and four brothers, Bernard, Walter, Leslie and Richard. Surviving are her six children, Donald Moraisey of Alexander, Eliza Mahar and her husband David of Blacks Harbour, NB, Robert Moraisey of Crawford, David Moraisey and his wife Karen of Princeton, Marion Holmes of Auburn, and Betty Fraser and her husband Toby of Minot; 9 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stephen Higgins and his wife Carol of St. Stephen, NB, and Joseph Higgins and his wife Van of Pennfield, NB; a special nephew, Carl Beney and his wife Charlene of Beaver Harbour, NB; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Aldena’s life will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais.
