Indian Township – Alfred Simon Socoby, 79, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Indian Township. Alfred was born in Indian Township on January 14, 1933, son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Sacobie) Socoby. He worked for Passamaquoddy Lumber for many years, Georgia Pacific, and security for Indian Township. Alfred was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and harvesting wood. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by all his siblings. Surviving are his Godson, John Tinker and his partner Eugene Roskom of Indian Township; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be held beginning 12 noon Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the home of Doris Chapman, 83 Hemlock Point Rd., Indian Township, until 9 a.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Burial will follow in the Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
