Calais – Allen Roger Hold, 56, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Calais Regional Hospital. Allen was born in St. Stephen, NB on December 27, 1955, son of Allen and Marjorie (Furbish) Hold. He graduated from Woodland High School and became a police officer for Bar Harbor, Princeton and Indian Township. Allen then worked as a logger and for Fulghum Fibers in Baileyville until joining the Laborer’s Union. While with the Union he traveled throughout the United States working in nuclear power plants until his illness in 2004. Allen returned home at that time to be close to his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and weight lifting. Allen was predeceased by his father Allen L. Hold; his brother James Hold; and two fathers-in-law, Moses Neptune and T.J. Parker. Surviving are his mother Marjorie Hold of Clearwater, FL; his wife Janet Neptune of Indian Township; two sons, Allen C. Hold and Cordell A. Hold, both of Indian Township; two sisters, Karen Hold and her companion Alden Bacon of Baileyville, and Brenda Smith of Essex Junction, VT; a sister-in-law Tammy Neptune of Nashville, TN; his best friend Robert Hood of Princeton; a special nephew and nieces, Mihku Sabattus and Tihtiyas Sabattus of Nashville, TN, and Jenny Sockabasin of Charlotte; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
