Veazie & Baileyville – Allena Joyce Corbett, 23, passed away surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with a rare brain disease on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at a Bangor hospital. Allena was born in Saint John, NB on February 10, 1993. After graduating from Woodland High School, Class of 2011, she moved to Bangor to attend Eastern Maine Community College where she earned her associates degree in Liberal Arts, and was working toward her bachelor’s degree in business management until her passing. Allena was a member of ECHO, Peer Education Group, and was supportive of the local LGBT group. She enjoyed caring for her fish aquariums, going to the movies, music, plants and spending time with friends.
Allena was predeceased by her dad, Paul Corbett II; her biological father who passed before her birth, Bruce Lank; paternal grandfather Paul Corbett Sr.; and her maternal grandparents June and Alyre Caissie. Surviving are her mother Betty Corbett and her companion Mike Greenier of St. Stephen, NB; paternal grandmother Carla Corbett of Baileyville; brother Nicholas Corbett and his fiancé Brooke Price of Baileyville; two sisters, Britney Corbett and her companion Cliffy Collins of Calais, and Danielle Clark of Calais; six nieces, Brielle, Raeghan, Brileigh, Claire, Braelyn and Mia; a nephew Noeah; many aunts, uncles, special cousins, and numerous dear friends throughout different parts of her life.
A celebration of Allena’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
