Talmadge – Andrea Lou Rodgers, 60, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. Andrea was born in St. Stephen, N.B., daughter to Merle and Anita (Lowe) Lydic.
She graduated from Woodland High School, Class of 1971, and from cosmetology school in Bangor. Andrea worked many years as a beautician and owned and operated her own salon in Alexander called Hair Care by Andrea. On February 18, 1983, she married David Rodgers in Baileyville. Andrea enjoyed gardening, flowers, bird watching, and spending quality time with her family.
She was predeceased by her father Merle. Surviving are her husband David “Bucky” Rodgers of Talmadge; her son Nick Leighton of Waterville; her mother Anita Lydic of Baileyville; two granddaughters, Isabella Leighton of Weymouth, MA, and Khloe Leighton of Waterville; one sister, Trudy Poole of Machias; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Renaud and her husband Ritchie of Waite, and Elva Borden of Princeton; two aunts, Betty Coltart of Charlotte, and Patricia Lowe of Baileyville; two special nieces, Amy Dwelley of Alexander and Stacey Wescott of Baileyville; many other nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Kim Cilley and Sharon Springer, both of Waite.
A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at People’s United Methodist Church, Summit St., Baileyville. Burial will follow in the Waite-Talmadge Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
