Anita D. Lydic

Baileyville

Anita Dawn Lydic, 93, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Narraguagus Bay Medical Facility in Milbridge.  Anita was born in St. Stephen, NB, on February 25, 1931, daughter of Paul and Irene (Jones) Lowe.

 

After graduating from Princeton High School, Anita married Merle “Buddy” Lydic.   Throughout the years, she worked various jobs, including the Boston Shoe Store, Ware Knitters, and at the Woodland Elementary School in the cafeteria and as a crossing guard.  Anita was a member of People’s United Methodist Church in Baileyville, and Orion Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed cross stitching and making fudge for the Masonic bingo in Baileyville.  Family meant the world to Anita and she cherished all the moments she had with her family.  

 

In addition to her parents, Paul and Irene Lowe, Anita was predeceased by her husband Merle “Buddy” Lydic; their two daughters, Andrea Rodgers and husband David, and Trudy Poole and husband Paul; her siblings, Betty Coltart and Richard Lowe; and a special uncle Paulie Lowe.  Surviving are her grandchildren, Nicholas Leighton of Baileyville, Amy Poole of Eastport, and Stacey Wescott and husband Josh of Baileyville; three great-grandchildren, Isabella and Khloe Leighton, and Jada Harding; sister-in-law Patricia Lowe of Portland; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

 

A Celebration of Anita’s Life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at People’s United Methodist Church, 20 Third Ave, Baileyville.  Burial will follow in the Village Cemetery, Grand Lake Stream.   Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
