Anita Robertson

Anita S Robertson 83 of 12 Wallis Rd Portsmouth NH, Passed away December 1, 2005 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She is survived by her husband , Donald G Robertson and many nieces and nephews.She was the daughter of the late John and Hazel (Brothers) Sherman of St Steven New Brunswick and she attended area schools in St Steven and Milltown. In January of 1943 she joined the Canadian Army and was stationed in Ontario and St John New Brunswick. Anita volunteered for overseas duty and was stationed in London England in the Postal Core. After the war she went into nursing and worked in many area hospitals in Canada . She moved to Calais and worked in the Calais Hospital and also as Dr Mitchell’s nurse . In 1951 she married her husband, Donald G Robertson. They lived in Calais for a few years and then moved to Portsmouth NH where they resided for the next 54 years. Anita was a loving and cheerful companion and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. (US Time) Saturday, June 3, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.
