Anna Bartnicki

Meddybemps – Anna Bartnicki, 90, died Monday, January 30, 2006 at a Calais hospital. Anna was born in Czechoslovakia, April 6, 1915, daughter of the late John and Anna (Luks) Heczko. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in New York, retiring in the 1970’s. After retirement, Anna worked at her daughter’s medical office in Brooklyn. She moved to Meddybemps in 2003, and enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing, and animals. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Teofil Bartnicki in 1969. Surviving are her daughter, Renata Bartnicki of Meddybemps; a brother, Rudolph Heczko and his wife Janet of Sidney, NY; and her canine companions, Coyote and Jenna. Friends may call Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, from 11:00 a.m. till noon, at which time funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bob Hinton.
