Calais – Annie Ruby Doten, 94, wife of the late Bernard Doten, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Calais Regional Hospital. Annie was born in Pleasant Ridge, N.B. on September 5, 1914, daughter of the late John and Veleona (Ross) Noddin. Annie enjoyed reading and spending time in the outdoors horseback riding, canoeing and snowmobiling. She had a love to knitting and enjoyed making mittens for the local area schools. Annie was predeceased by two sons, Roy and John Whittier; a daughter, Kathleen Pike (Durrell); step-son, Kenneth Doten; two brothers; two sisters; a granddaughter and three grandsons. Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Campbell and her husband Donald of Oak Bay, N.B.; a son, Ralph Whittier and his wife Barbara of St. Stephen, N.B.; step-daughters, Gail Connick and her husband Charles Mayfield of N.B., and Gertrude Doncaster of Oklahoma City, OK; a son-in-law, Durrell Pike of St. Stephen, N.B.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Doris Bustard; and several nieces and nephews.
