Baring – Annie E. Doten, 92, died February 9, 2007 at Calais Regional Hospital. She was born April 29, 1914 in Upper Mills, N.B., the daughter of John and Nellie (Blakney) Cornish. Annie was predeceased by her husband Otis and two infant sons, Otis and Raymond; brothers-in-law, Clyde, Albion and Bernard Doten, all of Baring; sisters-in-law Thelma Moreshead of Calais, Martena Howland of Baring, and Inez Frost of Alexander. Annie loved her flower gardens and knitting, making several pair of mittens each year for local churches and other organizations to distribute at Christmas. She is survived by her brother, Richard A. Cornish of St. John, N.B.; her son, Carlton R. Doten of Baring and Silver Springs, Fla.; three daughters, Elaine Perkins, Irene Gallway, and Jean Pike, all of Calais; a special grandson, Dean Perkins of Baring; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Norman Doten of Baring; sisters-in-law Evelyn Johnson and Muriel Doten of Baring, Winnifred Elsemore of Meddybemps, and Annie R. Doten of Calais; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring. Contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church of Calais or the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
