Arline V. Antone, 95, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at Down East Community Hospital in Machias. Arline was born in Pembroke on September 1, 1927, daughter of Raymond Dodge and Ruth Annie Bearman Dodge Lyons.
After graduating from Pembroke High School, Arline married Earl Ray Antone on January 25, 1947. She became a telephone operator with New England Telephone, a career that spanned 28 years. When the telephone company closed the Pembroke office, Arline went to work in the sardine industry in Eastport. She was a sardine packer and drove the bus for the workers for 30 years. Arline was a member of Iron Works United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star in Pembroke. Family was everything to Arline and she enjoyed spending as much time as she could with her mother.
In addition to her parents, Arline was predeceased by her husband Earl; brother Lawrence Dodge; and two nephews, Wendall and Larry Dodge. Surviving are three nieces, Ruth Lyons and husband Lenny of Topsham, and Cheryl and Kathy Dodge, both of East Machias; two nephews, William Dodge and wife Debbie of New Jersey, and Douglas Dodge of Jonesport; special great-niece, Cheryl Ann Hinkson of Gorham; special great-nephew, Christopher Lyons of Gardiner; special cousin, Silvia Sayer and companion Marty of Rockport; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
