Lubec – Arline Marie (Carter) Lyons, 97, who was born May 16, 1923, in Lubec, passed away with loved ones at her side on Friday, October 16, 2020 at the Robbinston Bridge Home in Robbinston. She is survived by her two children, her son, Philip Andrew McGibney and his wife Joan of Melbourne, FL and her daughter, Carolyn Sue Hayward and her husband Eldon of Dennysville. She has one surviving sister, Virginia Carter of Lubec; two grandchildren, Connie Marie Rooke and husband Scott of Melbourne, FL, and Shawn Braden McGibney and wife Katelyn of Covington, LA; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Rooke of Raleigh, NC, Cody Rooke and Jamie Rooke of Melbourne, FL; and cousin, Errol “Bunky” Tinker and wife Paula of Trescott. She will also be sorely missed by dear friends Warren and Sue Foss and their son Joey of Pembroke, who meant everything to her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph J. Lyons of Pembroke; her parents, LeRoy and Nellie Carter of Lubec; brothers, LeRoy Carter of Lubec, Andrew Carter and Carl Carter of Rockland and sister, Avis Sprague of Dennysville.
She worked for many years with her husband as building managers in Boston and Cambridge, Mass. Upon their return to Pembroke, they were well known for the well-organized garage and yard sales they had every summer on their property in Pembroke. She was the recipient of the Pembroke Boston Post Cane presented by the Town of Pembroke in 2017 for being the oldest resident of the town.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 5th at Green Lawn Cemetery in Lubec. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
