Calais – Arthur Douglas Waycott, 83, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2007 in Ellsworth. Arthur was born in Calais, September 4, 1923, son of the late Harold and Ina (Gass) Waycott. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army Military Police. Arthur retired from the Woodland Mill. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Farrar) Waycott; and his siblings, Lillian Peacock, Irving Waycott, Mary Nonnenmacher, John Waycott, Ruth Howard, Normand Waycott, Queenie Day, Helen Leaman and Omer Waycott. Surviving aer six sons, Randal Waycott of Riverside, R.I., Michael Waycott of Montana, David Waycott of Riverside, R.I., Irvine, Clifford and Harold Waycott, all of Calais; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Calais Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
