Perry – Ashley Megan LaPlante, 23, passed away peacefully December 17, 2014 at her home in Perry surrounded by family. She was born in Calais, December 3, 1991. Ashley grew up in Perry and attended Perry Elementary School which she was very fond of. She later graduated from Shead High School where she was also the freshman queen. She loved reading, hiking, walking on the beach and spending time with family and friends. Ashley always had an independent streak that was amazing. She was intent on making her own tracks in this world. In her young life she excelled at work, becoming assistant manager in retail and working in marketing for a major firm as a second job while living in New Hampshire. She tackled everything with fierce determination, remarkable strength and a maturity well beyond her years. Ashley is survived by her parents Alice and Vic LaPlante of Perry; brother Branden LaPlante and his girlfriend Krystin Smith of Surry; boyfriend Andrew O’Brien of Calais; grandparents Ronald and Cecilia Trott of Perry and Everett E. LaPlante of FL; aunts Vergie Mitchell of Pleasant Point, Trudy Richter and her husband Rolfe of Pleasant Point, Julia Trott of Perry, Grace Socobasin, Debbie Levesque both of Indian Township, Dawn Ray and her husband Jamie of NC and Edith Layman of NY; uncles Rick Dana and his wife Lisa of Portland, Mark LaPlante of NY, Darrell Trott of Perry, Bill Pulk of Pembroke, James Trott of Perry and Ken LaPlante and his wife Jacqui of NY; great aunts and uncles Joyce Hardenburg and her husband Kirk and Victor LaPlante and his wife Gail, all of NY; sisters Aimee Cluever and Amber Rich of NY; and many cousins and friends both near and far. Ashley was predeceased by her grandmother Eileen E. LaPlante and her uncle Ronald Trott Jr. Visitation for Ashley will begin 5:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20th at her home, 40 Marshall Lane, Perry until 10:00 a.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22nd at St. Ann’s Parish, Pleasant Point by Father Rob Lupo. Interment will follow at Trott Family Cemetery, Old Eastport Rd, Perry.
