Lubec – Ashton Ezra Ross, 11, passed suddenly on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 due to a tragic automobile accident. Ashton was born in Machias on October 18, 2010, son of Joel and Lacee (Phinney) Ross.
Ashton was currently a student at the Calais Alternative School. He enjoyed being in the outdoors sliding, fishing and swimming. Ashton loved playing video games, helping cook, and eating his favorite foods, blueberries, slim jims and beef jerky. He had a passion for animals, having cats, dogs and fish, as well as tending to their animals with his mom Lacee, the goats, chickens and ducks.
Ashton was predeceased by his grandfather, Papa David Ross; and his great-grandmothers, Sandra Phinney and Jeri Newman. Surviving are his parents, Joel and Lacee (Phinney) Ross of Lubec; three brothers, Isaic, James and Aimsley; his grandmothers, Nannie Bonnie Lyons of Lubec, and Sandra Phinney of Lubec; great-grandfather Harry Newman of St. Stephen, NB; aunts and uncle, Dakota Phinney of Lubec, and Shawn Ross and Taylor Greenier of Lubec; great-aunts and great-uncles, Kathy Murray, Judy Lyons, Candi Phinney and John Phinney, Ricky Ross, Jodi Rynaski, Lori Jones, Sue Corso, Clifford Newman and Deanna Newman; and many cousins; three very special cousins who held a piece of his heart, Chelsea and Baylee Stanley, and Sidney Phinney; and numerous friends, including his best friend Elliot.
Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2022 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais.
