Audrey Mae Moreside

BAILEYVILLE – Audrey Mae Moreside, 87, passed away on March 20, 2013 in Bangor surrounded by her family. Audrey was born on May 15, 1925 to Burleigh and Fannie (Flood) Perkins in Baileyville where she spent her childhood and graduated from Woodland High School class of 1943. Audrey worked as a cashier for over 30 years at the Woodland IGA where her good attitude and love of life didn’t go unnoticed. Many of her customers were willing to wait a little longer so they could check out with Audrey. She loved to laugh and loved her family; Audrey would often say “I feel good today”. She was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past member of the Rebeccah’s. Audrey was an avid fan of basketball, being somewhat of a star herself in high school. She has enjoyed watching 3 of her grandchildren play, attending their games as her health would allow and cheering at the top of her lungs. One of Audrey’s favorite things to do was Dance. She loved the jitter-bug and jumped at the chance to dance with anyone! She loved to go to the Wesley dances. In addition to her parents Audrey was predeceased by two sons, Carleton and Wayne Moreside; two sisters, Madeline Perkins and Winifred O’Neill; a nephew, Gary O’Neill and a son-in-law, Carmen Comeau. She will be sadly missed by her three children, Deborah Howard and her husband, Fred, David Moreside and Donna Dereszewski, all of Baileyville; sister, Betty Marcum and her husband Curtis, of Weldon, IL; sister-in-law, Muriel Matthews; four grandchildren, Shawn Ross, Travis Dow, Jessica Moreside and Christopher Moreside; several nieces and nephews and many special friends from the Woodland Manor. Visitation for Audrey will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27th at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. The committal service will be held later in the spring at Baring Cemetery.
