Austin S. Humphries, 81, passed away surrounded by family on May 11, at the Calais Community Hospital. Austin was born in Macon, GA, on December 16, 1942, son of Benjamin and Flora (Stone) Humphries.
Austin grew up in Perry, graduated from Shead High School, Class of 1961 graduated from the 2 yr. Program at University of Maine-Orono, College of Agriculture,1963. He returned to Perry and became Partners with His Father Benjamin S. Humphries to Manage Humphries Dairy from the mid 1960’s to the late 1980’s.
Austin married Pauline A. Cook and had 3 daughters. Austin enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, spending time at Camp and later became a Commercial Fisherman.
Austin is survived by his companion Beverly Francis of Perry, Brother, Robert L. Humphries of Perry, Sister Betty and husband Brenton Dyer of Monmouth, Daughters, Elaine and husband Patrick Driscoll of Yarmouth, Jill and husband Corey Curtis of Perry, Joyce and companion James Moilanen of Parker, CO, Grandchildren James and wife Marissa Brown of Hermon, Jordan Driscoll and husband Cody Norton of Cumberland, Suzanne Driscoll and husband Stanislav Basistyy of Westbrook, Janelle Pottle and Fiancee Kyle Doody of Westbrook, and Evan Moilanen of Parker, CO, Great Grandchildren Bennett Brown of Hermon, Brooklyn and AJ Ball of Hermon, Finn and Sadie Norton of Cumberland, Several Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held in Perry at the Leland Cemetery at a later date in August 2024. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
