Calais – Benjamin A. Roy, 69, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Calais Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Ben was born in St. Stephen, N.B. on June 26, 1937, son of the late Albert and Irene Roy. He lived in Calais most of his life and was a well known mechanic around the area. Ben was an avid hunter and gun collector, enjoyed camping, and loved the outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. Surviving are his childhood sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Roberta (Bobbi) A. Roy, whom he married on May 8, 1959; six sons, Phil and Rob of Conn., Mike of Kentucky, Tim of Calais, Dave of St. Stephen, and Ben of Bangor; a daughter, Jodi Thomas of Charlotte; a brother Glen Roy and a sister Donna, both of Toronto, Ontario; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a special brother-in-law and close friend Thomas Daggett of Milltown, N.B.; his grandchildren Krista, Ericka, and Amanda who were there by his side to take care of him every step of the way. A special thanks to Krista and Ericka for providing care and friendship.
