Cooper - Bernice C. (Tracy) Robinson died at her home on Cathance Lake on February 5, 2007. She was born in Calais on May 13, 1912, the daughter of William and Alice (Sprague) Tracy and was the youngest of ten children. She was predeceased by seven brothers and two sisters and her loving husband of 54 years Donald M. Robinson. She is survived by her daughter Alice-Jean of Cathance Lake and a sister-in-law Lillian Tracy of St. Stephen. She is also survived by a special niece and nephew Kathy Leighton and Arthur Harriman of Saco, special nephews Paul Spinney who came and played the guitar and sang with her and Terry Zimirowski of MA her swimming buddy since he was a little boy. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces in the U.S. and New Brunswick and cousins. Niecie, as she was fondly called, graduated from Calais Academy in 1931. She married Don in August of 1934 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and continued to be a active member of St. Anne’s. Niecie worked as a supervisor at the Ware Knitters for many years retiring in 1974. She loved playing cards, driving, swimming until she was 90 and especially loved Cathance Lake and the place she and Don built together. She lived a very happy, healthy life until she was diagnosed with Alzheimers which caused many changes in her life as the disease progressed. Niecie had a great love for people. She was very fond of her special friend of many years, Penny Braley. Her caretakers and friends Anita, Kay, Paula, Martha and Marilyn. She especially enjoyed St. Anne’s Craft Group, ECW and A.J.’s bridge friends. She had a special place in her heart for Kathy & Travis Hull at Cathance Lake Variety and all the guys there who were so considerate and kind to her and brought fun and sparkle into her life. Services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, February 10, 2007 at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church with Father David Sivret officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall Building Fund. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
