Indian Township – Bethany Maria Gabriel, 51, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her family. Bethany was born in Calais on May 7, 1969.
Bethany graduated from Calais High School, Class of 1988, and went on to further her education at Washington County Community College. For several years she worked in medical records for the Indian Township Health Center and later for the public works and the O.S.B. plant in Baileyville. Bethany also served on the Indian Township School Board. She enjoyed spending time on Chain Lake. Her most cherished times were those spent with her children and grandchildren.
Bethany was predeceased by her mother, Lorraine Gabriel; step-mother Brenda Breeze; twin sister Tiffany Stevens; two brothers, Mark Allen Stevens and Nakoma Gabriel; and her grandmothers, Rita Ranco and Mary Gabriel. Surviving are her father, Roger Ritter; three children, Tiffany Tomah and companion Melissa Giguere of Indian Township, Danielle Tomah and companion Isaac Tito of Bangor, and Glenn Tomah and companion Angel Andrews of Indian Township; four grandchildren who she loved dearly, Gavyn Tomah, Rita Tinker, Carter Tomah and Gabriel Tomah; her sister Nikia Gabriel and husband Darin Campbell; two brothers, Ryan Gabriel and Anthony Dark; her best friend Lillian Sockabasin of Indian Township; dear friend who was like her daughter, Jasmine Lopez of Lisbon; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will begin 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 3 South Eagle Point Rd, Indian Township, until 12 noon Thursday, April 15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, by Father Kevin J. Martin at the Indian Township Bingo Hall.
