Betty F. Flores

Betty Florence Csokas Flores, 90, peacefully passed away on September 16,2022 at the home she shared with her daughter Carol for the past four years. Her daughters Clara Buescher and Carol Flores were at her bedside.

Betty was born on March 26, 1932 to John and Clara Csokas in Detroit, Michigan. She was the 10th of 12 children.

In 1950 she married Louis Flores, her husband of 65 years. Together they raised four daughters through the many stepping stones to adulthood.

Gardening and growing flowers brought Betty great joy. She modeled kindness, compassion and dedication to family as she cared for her elderly uncle and mother in law in our home during their last days.

Betty was pre-deceased by her parents and her husband Louis.

She is survived by her daughters: Clara Buescher ( Thomas); Carol Flores; Catherine Flores Coraci; and Christine Pyrkosz ( Christopher). Grandchildren: Michael Buescher (Courtney); Margot Buescher Reavey(Michael); James Buescher(Michelle); Joshua Coraci (Amy). Great grandchildren: Roisin, Elijah, Zachary, and Maren. Two sisters Helen and Henrietta and numerous nieces and nephews including her beloved godchild Laura Arjad survive.

Progressive dementia infused Betty’s last decade, but her dry wit and the sparkle in her eye persisted. Her daughter Carol lovingly provided safe, consistent, home based care and support during Betty’s last four years.

A celebration of life and interment will be scheduled for summer 2023 in Maine. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Betty’s name to Community Health and Counseling Services (Hospice) and The Ark Animal Shelter in Cherryfield.
