Betty Eileen Wright

Betty Wright of Eastport, Maine passed away in Auburn, Maine on October 16th, 2013.
Betty was born April 11, 1935 in Middleton, England. Betty is survived by her daughters Joette Jouglard and Paulette Garrido, sisters Shirley Pugh and Florence Dale and grandchildren Erica Jouglard, Paul and Mark Garrido. Betty is predeceased by husband Paul, sons Paul, Andrew and Thomas, father Arthur Leslie Crane, mother Winifred and brothers Eddie and Gerald Crane.
Betty was an Air Force wife for 20 years. She traveled Europe and the US and took care of her three children while husband Paul went on frequent remote assignments. After retiring in Eastport in 1979, Betty held an assortment of jobs. She worked at Guilford’s, JJ Newberry’s, Franks pizza, and was a substitute teacher at Eastport Elementary and Shead high school.
Betty was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella, the VFW and St Joseph’s Catholic
Church. She was well known and loved at local beano games and was lovingly nicknamed “Betty Boop” by those who knew her.

Betty enjoyed baking, gardening, mending and keeping busy. Never one to miss a social event, she was an active participant in many over the years. Betty participated in local fashion shows, lip-synch performances, 4th of July parades, exercise and aerobics classes and went on several trips. Betty loved to collect angels and had an extensive collection. Now, Betty is with the angels and her savior.

Services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Eastport Saturday, October 19th at 11am, internment to follow at Bayside Cemetery.
