Obituary for Blaine Galen McLaughlin Sr.

Alexander – Blaine Galen McLaughlin Sr., 65, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Blaine was born in Vanceboro on March 10, 1944, son of the late True and Edith McLaughlin. After graduating from Lubec High School Class of 1963, he moved to Connecticut where he worked for Pratt & Whitney for several years. Blaine returned to Maine and started his career with Georgia Pacific in Baileyville, retiring in 2007 with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Breakneck Mountain ATV Club, and the National Rifle Association. Blaine enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry. In addition to his parents, Blaine was predeceased by Phyllis and Rolla Archer, whom raised him; a son, Brian Lee McLaughlin; and a sister Marion Scott. Surviving are his three children, Blaine McLaughlin Jr. and his wife Tanya of Calais, Angie McLaughlin Kipp and her husband Casey of West Palm Beach, FL, and Ashley McLaughlin of Alexander; four sisters, Dale Carlow, Elaine McLaughlin, Carroll McLaughlin and Donna Trott; three brothers, Elwood McLaughlin, Errol McLaughlin and Jimmy Archer; six grandchildren, Brian McLaughlin, Tonisha Bassett, Drake MacKenzie, Dakota Close, Katelynn Bassett and Jordan McLaughlin; two great-grandchildren, Duncan McLaughlin and Ella Hamm; and many nieces and nephews.
