Branden Rodd Gillespie, 45, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, following a lengthy illness. Branden was born February 20,1979, son of Rodney Gillespie and Paulette Barnard Gillespie at Calais Regional Hospital in Calais Maine.
Branden spent his childhood years growing up in Charlotte, Maine. For years he loved playing hockey at the Border Arena playing with St Stephen Hockey. He loved the outdoors, any season, including hunting and fishing. He also had a lifelong passion for airplanes, with time spent flying around Washington County with neighbor Ed Arbo. Branden attended high school in Calais, graduating from The School of Tomorrow in 1998. He lived in Bangor most of his adult life having many amazing, supportive friends in his life. Branden loved his family immensely.
He is survived by his son, his most prided achievement, Branden James Gillespie, mother Paulette Gillespie, father Rodney Gillespie and wife Kathy, sister BryAna Gillespie, grandmothers Pat Barnard, and Lorraine Gillespie. Branden is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and Godparents Mary and Tom Delmonaco. He is predeceased by both grandfathers, Paul Barnard, Allen Gillespie, and Aunt Katherine Barnard. Branden was loved unconditionally and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Round Pond Cemetery in Charlotte. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home.
