Perry – Bruce Anson Boyce, 63, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Calais Regional Hospital. Bruce was born in Worcester, MA, on August 7, 1950, son of Arthur Boyce and Ruth (Clark) Milne. After graduating from Pentucket Regional High School, Class of 1968, he attended school in Boston for a year. Before relocating to Arizona to finish his degree, Bruce married Kathleen Prescott on June 27, 1969 in Georgetown, MA. He graduated from University of Arizona with a degree in Architect in 1973. Bruce returned to the east coast and worked for Wright Pierce in Brunswick and Portsmouth, NH, and also for JSA Architect in Portsmouth, NH. He eventually started his own architecture consulting business. After the birth of his first grandchild, Bruce and Kathleen moved to Perry in 2005 so that they could be close to her and be part of her childhood. At the time of his passing, Bruce was in the process of designing and building his dream home in Perry on East Bay. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, and being with his family. Bruce was predeceased by his father Arthur. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Boyce; his mother Ruth Milne of Georgetown, TX; two children, Amanda Wilson and husband Benjamin of Calais, and Ian Boyce and wife Kimberly of Sanford; his granddaughter Lana Wilson; a brother, Barry Boyce and wife Brenda of Georgetown, TX; two nieces, Jennifer and Kristen; his mother-in-law, Irene Prescott of Haverhill, MA; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours and a time of remembrance will be held 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, ME 04619. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to Cancer Care of Maine, PO Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402.
