Obituary for Bryan K. Wormell

Bryan K. Wormell—beloved brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend — died on January 7th, 2018 in San Jose, California. Bryan was born in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1934, attended the University of Kansas and eventually moved to Long Beach, California, where he began his long, successful career in the trucking industry. Bryan went on to found Pac Rim Container Service, which he sold upon his retirement.

While he spent 50 years in Southern California, Bryan felt most at home and at ease in Woodland, Maine. His happiest moments were spent with his family and friends on the golf course at St. Croix Country Club in Calais or about to tuck into a plate of lobster, at the family lobster feeds. He deeply loved his brother P.G., and all of his nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Bryan was a voracious reader who loved opera, cigars, classical music, and perhaps most of all, spending time with his daughter Bronwyn and his three grandchildren—Stella, Maddy and Luca. Bryan will be remembered for his warmth, his sense of humor, his storytelling skills, and his unfailing optimism in life. We know he’s playing the best 18 holes of his life right now, but we miss him very much.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Woodland Cemetery, Ryan Rd., Baileyville. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
