Princeton, ME & Willsboro, NY – Byron Lee Ellsworth, 91, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, at Calais Regional Hospital with his loving wife and son by his side. Byron was born in Willsboro, NY on March 27, 1919, son of the late Lee and Lillian Ellsworth. After graduating from Willsboro High School he started his career at New York & Pennsylvania Co. Byron was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps., serving his country during WWII. After the war he returned home and continued his employment with New York & Pennsylvania Co which was purchased and closed by Georgia Pacific in 1966. At that time he was transferred to Baileyville, ME, where he worked for Georgia Pacific until his retirement in 1981. Byron enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading non-fiction books. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Hazel Ellsworth. Surviving are his wife Agnes (Facteau) Ellsworth, whom he married on November 4, 1944 in Port Henry, NY; and his two children Richard Ellsworth of Clinton, MA, and Joyce Ellsworth of Ballston Spa, NY. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Calvary Cemetery in Willsboro, NY. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
