Mrs. Calla R. Greenlaw died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 26, 2014 of natural causes. She was born in Crawford, Maine on October 4, 1914, the daughter of Frank L. and Lula M. (Thistlewood) Magoon.
Mrs. Greenlaw lived the greater part of her life in Eastport. She attended school in Crawford and Calais. She was the consummate business woman. She worked in the Calais post office for many years and later owned and operated the Red Ranch Inn in Eastport and dabbled in real estate around the Eastport area. Calla missed her calling as a master carpenter. In her heyday she could build anything and was meticulous to a fault. Anything she put together had to be exact and all work would stop until it met her specifications. She loved working and was always busy. She raised and adored her poodles. She always had at least two of them running around. In her later years she wintered in Florida but always called Eastport her home.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon E. Greenlaw of Bunnell, Florida, daughter Sharron Trecartin of Beverly Hills, Florida, seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and good friends in Eastport and Florida.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Ulric C. and Robert M. Magoon, her sister, Evelyn Sharpe and her daughter, Sandra R. (Peacock) Stevens.
A private service was held at the Crawford Cemetery.
