Alexander & Calais – Carl M. Perkins Sr., 85, passed away on May 11, 2018 at Marshall’s Health Care in Machias surround by his wife and loving family. Carl was born on August 28, 1932 to Roland and Eva (Cooper) Perkins in Alexander.
In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by two sisters, Arlene Zeis and Melva Hartel and a brother, Donald Perkins.
He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Vivian (Dwelley) Perkins; his two brothers, Fletcher Perkins and his wife Clarice and Ivan Perkins and his wife Barbara; five children, Carl Perkins Jr and his wife June, Beverly Doyer, Dennis Perkins, Dana Perkins and his wife Virginia and Carlene Thornton; stepson, Rick Goodwin and his wife Karen; stepdaughter, Tracy Goodwin; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Carl will be remembered for his storytelling and fun-loving personality, he was constantly pulling pranks and teasing. He could often be found at Randy’s Variety Store playing cribbage or out bowling. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. For thirty years Carl and his wife, Vivian owned and operated Carl’s Restaurant in Baileyville and spent winters in Florida.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Alexander Cemetery with Pastor Chip Howell officiating – Any and all are welcome to attend. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
