PLEASANT POINT – Carolyn Francis has gone home with the Lord after a long illness on July 26, 2009 with her family and friend at her side. Carolyn was born in Eastport on December 12, 1952, daughter of Margaret and Edgar Quinn of Perry. She graduated from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1973. Carolyn dedicated 16 years caring for the elderly whom she loved dearly as a CNA and Activity Director. For ten years, Carolyn opened her heart and home for needy children as a Foster parent for Tribal and State children. She had a heart of gold. She was predeceased by her sister Shirley Homan and brother, Phillip Quinn. Surviving are her loving husband John A. Francis; son John Francis Jr. and his wife Claire of England; daughter Glenda Francis of Pleasant Point; foster daughter Jasmine Francis and her companion Bert Toni; five grandchildren, Jacob and Heidi of England, and Aurora, Allen and John of Pleasant point; sister Patricia Degon and her husband Jim of Poland Springs; brothers Chester and Richard, both of Calais; and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn will also be fondly missed by her extended Francis family. Carolyn was an active member of the Washington Street Baptist Church as missionary treasurer, and also sang in the church choir. She helped organize the Baptist youth camp and held a “Good News Club” for all the children in her home. She always had her own way of making children smile. Carolyn enjoyed figure skating, taking walks and horseback riding. Services will be held at the Perry Bible Fellowship Church 10:00 AM, Monday, July 27, 2009 with Rev. Gillan J. Soucy officiating. Burial will take place at Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 5:00 PM.
