Obituary for Catherine Marie Frost

Perry – Catherine Marie (MacNichol) Frost, 80, passed away peacefully at her home on October 1, 2015 with her daughters by her side. She was born in Eastport on November 3, 1934, daughter of Fred and Florence (McCoy) MacNichol. Kay was employed by Oscar Whalen Attorney at Law from 1952 until 1954, the year she married Herbert Frost and decided to stay home and raise her family. Together they had three daughters and a son. During her time at home she and her husband farmed, raising vegetables which they sold until Herbert’s untimely death in 1981. Kay then went to work in the woolen mill, dug clams, raked blueberries and made wreaths for many years. She liked to crochet, knit and read she also enjoyed working outside in her flower gardens. In addition to her parents and husband, Kay was also predeceased by her son, Austin Frost and brother, William MacNichol. Survivors include her daughters, Paula and her wife Lillian of Perry, Sandra and her husband Archie of Darien, CT and Lillian and her husband Kim of Stetson; five grandchildren, Robert, Jamie, Lauren, Kaitlyn and Tammy and her husband Kevin; three great grandchildren, Natasha, Colin and Hailey; two brothers, Fred MacNichol and his wife Barbara and John MacNichol and his wife Tarina; many nieces and nephews and three very special friends Joyce Gove, Carrie Stanhope and Delia Trott. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kay’s memory may be made to The Perry Volunteer Fire Department, 451 Old Eastport Rd., Perry, ME 04667. A Celebration of Catherine’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5th at Mays Funeral Home-Flagg Chapel, 72 High St., Eastport with Pastor Robert Hinton officiating. Committal will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Perry.
