Charlene D. Welch

Charlene Diffin Welch, 83, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023, at Calais Community Hospital. Charlene was born in Robbinston on March 3, 1940, daughter of Robert and Jacqueline (Taylor) Diffin.

In her younger years, Charlene was a First Responder for the Robbinston Ambulance. She then became a CNA with Barnard’s Nursing Home for many years, and in her later years worked at Ames Department Store. Charlene enjoyed spending time outdoors and could often be found tending her vegetables and flower gardens, or fishing.

Charlene is predeceased by her parents, and her son Timothy Avery. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Sax; sons Robert Merrill and his wife Elizabeth, James Avery and his wife Sheila; grandchildren Jennifer, Katie, Benjamin, Rebecca, Zachary, Tanner and Anna; great grandchildren Lucien, Amelia and Charlotte.
