Baileyville – Charles Joseph Bass, 65, died Friday, December 15, 2006 at Atlantic Rehab & Nursing Center. Charles was born in Baileyville, May 7, 1941, son of Frederick and Julie (Babineau) Bass. He married Gertrude Mullins on June 27, 1963 in Milltown, N.B. Charles was employed as a truck driver for Goding & Sons Concrete for over 20 years. He was a Communicant of St. James the Greater R.C. Church in Baileyville and a member of the Princeton Rod & Gun Club. Charles enjoyed playing poker, cribbage, motorcycle trips, and hunting. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Bass, and a sister, Rose Marie Bass. Surviving are his wife of over 43 years, Gertrude Bass; his mother, Julie Bass of Lewiston; a daughter, Annette Bass of Baileyville; his special granddaughter, Marisa McCray; two sisters, Catherine Frost and her husband Charles of Clinton, Mass, and Florine McAvoy and her husband Wayne of Fla.; two brothers, Norman Bass and his wife Betty of Omaha, Neb., and Vincent Bass and his wife Irene of Auburn; special friends, Joe Troiani, Alden Bacon, and Jeff Storey; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
