Indian Township – Charles “Charlie” Brown, 49, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 7, 2022 due to a tragic motorcycle accident. Charlie was born in Calais on May 30, 1972, son of John and Viola (Dana) Brown.
Charlie graduated from Lee Academy, Class of 1991, and met his one true love, Karen Burtt. He worked construction for DiCenzo and drove truck hauling wood products, later becoming an owner/operator. Recently Charlie was working for the Indian Township Sewer Dept. He was a proud member of the Wabanaki Warriors MC. Charlie loved family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking and smoking food with his smoker.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by an infant brother, Herbert Brown. Surviving are his companion of 29 years, Karen Burtt; three children, Kelsey Burtt and companion Cliff Francis of Indian Township, Charles “CJ” Brown and companion Simone Polches of Indian Township, and Daynah Watt and husband Cameron of Big Lake Twp; three grandchildren and “Bampie’s pride and joy”, Austin Nicholas, Abigail Watt and Cameron “Dodge” Watt; two brothers, Roger Brown and wife Faithann of Indian Township, and Benjamin Dana of Indian Township; a sister Colleen Cummings and husband Walter of Eastport; many nieces and nephews; close friends Nathan Moores and Wally Brown; his canine companions Ruger and Gypsy; feline companion Honey Pie; and numerous dear friends.
Visitation will begin 11:00 am. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his brother Roger’s house, 72 Hemlock Point Rd., Indian Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at St. Ann Church, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
