Charles Henry LaPlante

Cooper - Charles Henry (Chick) LaPlante, suddenly, at the Down East Community Hospital in Machias,on Sept 13, 2010 at the age of 64. Charles was born in Grand Falls, N.B., on May 14, 1947. He was a son of the late George and Leola LaPlante. Charles liked to ride motorcycles, hunt, fish and play the guitar. He’d snare the rabbits and then the whole family would gather at Mom’s for her famous rabbit stew. He enjoyed building things and “tinkering” around the house. He will especially be missed by his black Lab “Misty”. Charles is survived by his children and grandchildren, Kim Caldwell and children Cody, Ryann and Maren; Robert (April) and their children, Alicia, Kyle, Nicole and Jessica; Gregory and his children, Curtis, Tori and Kassidy; Nicole Carlson (Rick) and their children, Lynnea and Katie; Michelle Macklin (Geoff) and their children, Carter and Kenzie; two brothers, Gregory LaPlante (Anita) and Matthew LaPlante (Wanda), and two sisters, Monique (Stephen) McIsaac and Linda Roach (Richard); also two very special aunts, Aunt Lou and Aunt Theresa. Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by one brother, Robert, in 1963. As per Charles’ request there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held following cremation.
