Obituary for Charles Robb Redding

Cooper – Charles “Robbi” Redding, 55, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 with his mother by his side at a Bangor hospital. Robbi was born in Calais on March 20, 1959. After attending Woodland High School in Baileyville, he moved to Cathance Lake. Robbi worked for Georgia Pacific, security for Environment Protection, Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge, Jed’s Hardware in Baileyville, as a carpenter for Dan Ackley, and most recent as a truck driver for C&M Trucking. In 2001 he had to retire after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Robbi was a communicant of St. James the Greater R.C. Church in Baileyville, a member of the Spednic Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time on the lake.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Charles and Mabel Redding; and two aunts, Sandra Blaney and Carol Ann Higgins. Surviving are his mother Janice Redding of Cooper; an uncle Gerald Blaney of Baileyville; cousins, Dacia and Ed Klinkerch of Raymond and their children Victor and Anna, Donald and Kathy Higgins of Brunswick and their daughter Keighley, and Bill and Alicia Greenlaw of Calais and their children; and special friends, Norman and Susan Call of Baileyville, Betty and Larry Tibbetts of Topsfield, Joan “of Arc” and Mike McLean of Calais, and Jean and Dennis Neddeau of Baileyville.

A celebration of Robbi’s life will be held 12 noon Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Woodland Cemetery with Father Rob Lupo officiating. Donations in Robbi’s memory may be made to the Cooper Vol. Fire Dept., c/o Trevor Flood (Fire Chief), 268 Cooper Hwy, Cooper, ME 04657. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
