Claire Dick Lee

EASTPORT – Claire Beatrice (Dick) Lee, 92, passed away Friday afternoon, September 2, 2011 at Atlantic Rehab in Calais. Claire was born to Wellington and Rena (Matthews) Dick on December 23, 1918 in Mascarene, New Brunswick. She soon after moved to Maine where she attended many of the local schools. In 1945 she married William E. Lee. Claire was a member of the Pembroke United Methodist Church and Pennamaquan Chapter #146 Order of the Eastern Star. She worked many summers in the local fish factories. Claire loved fashion and was always full of energy. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents Claire was predeceased by her husband Bill, her son Gary, a sister, Berna Hatch and 3 brothers, Lloyd, Nelson and Hugh Dick. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Gary Lee Jr. of Calais and Shannon Emery and her husband Mark, her great granddaughter, Rachel Emery and her daughter-in-law, Catherine Lee, all of Eastport. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday September 8th at Hillside Cemetery in Eastport. Arrangements are in the care of Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
