Clara Sturks McCurdy

Lubec – Clara McCurdy, 86, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Hospice House in Auburn. Clara was born in Lubec on July 21, 1922, daughter of the late Carl and Annie (Hunt) Sturks. She was employed for years as a packer in the local sardine factories. Besides her parents, Clara was predeceased by her husband, Leo McCurdy; a grandson, Leo C. McCurdy; and a sister, Geneva Garnett. Surviving are her son, Neal McCurdy and his wife Judith of Kingfield; a granddaughter, Kate Schulz and her husband Brian of North Reading, MA; and great-grandchildren, Kiernan and Maggie Schulz of North Reading, MA. A Celebration of Clara’s Life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Christian Temple Church in Lubec with Pastor Gary Look officiating. Burial will follow in the Lamson Cemetery. A special thanks goes to Hospice of Washington County, Franklin County, and Auburn for the wonderful care Clara received.
