Obituary for Clark W Rice Sr.

Berwick and Pembroke – Clark W. Rice Sr. passed away July 20, 2009 at his home with his loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with Small Cell Lung Cancer. Clark, the son of Harry and Madeleine (Clark) Rice, was born Nov. 25, 1935 in Bangor. Clark owned and operated Clark’s Auto Body for 35 years in Berwick. Some of his favorite pass times were remodeling or building homes and spending time in the woods on his tractor cutting his winter wood. He was the caretaker of Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke, which he really enjoyed. Clark is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Pat, and their four children, son Allan A. Rice and friend Shanna of Somersworth, NH; daughters Kathleen J. and husband David Jacques of Lebanon and Marlene C. and husband Wilbur Garland of Rochester, NH; and son Ronald R. Rice and wife Tammy. He also has two children by a previous marriage, Clark W. Rice Jr. and wife Debbie of Berwick and daughter Priscilla and husband Mark Leach of No. Berwick. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Wayne W. Rice Sr. and wife Lorraine of Pembroke, Edwin S. Rice Sr. and wife Nancy of Robbinston, Kathleen J. Rice, and Wilma R. and husband Dick Barnsley of Palermo. Clark also leaves behind two special grandchildren that he brought up, Adrien A. Rice and Andrew C. Rice. He is survived by 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many good friends. Clark was predeceased by his mother and father; two brothers, Thomas H. Rice Sr. and Robert A. Rice; one sister, Janice T. Leighton; and two nephews, Wayne W. Rice Jr. and Thomas H. Rice Jr.
