Perry – Clifford Selden Ward II, 34, died suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 22, 2009. Clifford was born in Eastport on Nov. 15, 1974, son of Charles and Karen (Emery) Ward. He attended the Pembroke Elementary School and graduated with honors from Washington Academy in East Machias, Class of 1993. While in high school, Clifford worked with the Youth Conservation Corp. at the Moosehorn in Baring. Later he worked in the salmon farming industries, and most recently at Wal-Mart in Calais. Clifford was multi-talented. He was able to build a boat, draw, or refurbish an automobile. While in high school, he won contests with his drawings. The 1993 Washington Academy Yearbook has many pages of his talent in it. In addition to his parents, Charles and Karen Ward of Pembroke, he is survived by his two children, Joseph Selden and Katelyn Belle Ward; his sister, Angela Prenier and her husband James and their children, James, Jesse and Jason Prenier of Pembroke; his maternal grandfather, Francis Emery of Camden; and many aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. Clifford will be sadly missed by his children, whom he loved with all his heart, and all his family and friends. A graveside service will be held at the family lot in Clarkside Cemetery, Pembroke, in the spring. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Homes, Calais & Eastport.
