Dana M. Hagerman Sr.

Dana Merle Hagerman Sr., 86, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at Maine Veterans Home in Bangor.  Dana was born in Presque Isle on May 5, 1937, son of Merle and Lena (Purington) Hagerman.

After graduating from Presque Isle High School, Dana enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Recruiter.  Following his retirement from the Army, he worked as a Police Officer for Lebanon and North Berwick, was a D.A.R.E. Officer, and a substitute teacher for the local Lebanon and Sanford schools.  Dana was proud of his military service and was a member of the V.F.W., serving as Commander.  He loved fishing and enjoyed woodworking, especially making cribbage boards.

In addition to his parents Merle and Lena Hagerman, Dana was predeceased by four children, Norma Johnson, Lisa Harmon, Karen Hagerman, and Dana Hagerman Jr.; grandson Jason Burke; and several siblings.  Surviving are his daughter Tammy Hagerman of Saco; sister Gloria Dodge of NH; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
