Daniel W. Devoe, 71, passed away at his home in Lambert Lake on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. Daniel was born in Harvey, N.B., on December 16, 1952, son of Bernard and Ella (Stover) Devoe.
From a young age, Danny followed in his grandfather and father’s footsteps, working on the railroad. Retiring after 30 plus years of hard work, he enjoyed life in the country, fishing and hunting. Throughout the years, he enjoyed family hunting trips with his many relatives in southern Maine. Danny was a big history buff and enjoyed reading. He was a collector of many things trains and railroad, and countless other memorabilia. Danny had a love of old country music and spent a lot of time riding the Lambert Road with friends and family while listening to the old tunes. Danny had a story to tell about every turn in that road. He liked keeping the stories of the good ole days as he called them about local history, family and friends, alive. Watching television was also a great passion of Danny’s, especially old westerns.
Danny was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Ella Devoe; grandparents, Barney and Mary Devaou, and Ernie and Birdie Stover; a sister Becky Devoe; special uncle Robert Devoe; special aunt June Bowden; and his feline companion Dexter. Danny is survived by his two brothers, Michael Devoe of Lambert Lake, and Ricky Devoe and wife Melanie of Baileyville.
In keeping with Danny’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home.
