Daniel Ryan Pinney

Calais – Daniel Ryan Pinney, 26, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Daniel was born in Calais on May 20, 1987. After graduating from Woodland High School, Class of 2005, he worked as a security officer at Calais Regional Hospital for 5 years, and was a Firefighter/EMT for Calais & Baileyville. Daniel was then employed at the University of Maine in Orono as a security officer, firefighter and EMT.

Wanting to be closer to home and his family, he started his own company called Lawn Rangers, Landscape and Maintenance Company. Currently Daniel was employed at the Calais IGA. He enjoyed working on vehicles, being in the outdoors, and spending time with his family, especially his children.

Daniel was predeceased by his brother David Jordan; an uncle Robbie McIninch; maternal grandmother Greta Leslie; and his great-grandparents Allen and Annie Whirty. Surviving are his mother and dad, Addie Pinney and Maurice Polk of Baring; his father Daniel Wayne McIninch; two children, Alex Ryan and James Levi, and their mother Ashli Raven of Calais; grandparents, Robert and Yvonne McIninch of Calais; a sister Kaylin Pinney; two brothers, Joshua Pinney and Stephen Lincoln; aunts and uncles, Gurien Lewis of MA, Virginia and Robert Warner of SC, Cindy and Buck Wartman of Calais, Reginald and Paula Spingola of MA, and Lorenzo “Rocky” Spingola of MA; a nephew Brayden Ellsmore; a niece Lainey Ellsmore; many cousins; special friends Shawn McLean and Megan Ellsmore; and his best buddy and canine companion Tia.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Baring Baptist Church, Front St. in Baring. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
