Obituary for David Wallace McKeown

Baileyville – David “Fuzzy” Wallace McKeown, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 13, 2009 in a Bangor hospital. David was born in St. Stephen, N.B. Canada on February 25, 1951, son of James and Dorothea (Craft) McKeown. After graduating from Calais High School in 1969, David began his career in trucking. Most recently he drove for R.E.M. Transport. On May 18, 1974, he married Marie Dougherty in St. Stephen. David enjoyed driving truck, watching tv, computers, and traveling to Florida, especially Disney. His most memorable times were spent with his family. On October 24, 2008, he was predeceased by his father, James McKeown. Surviving are his loving wife of over 34 years, Marie McKeown; two children, Niesje McKeown of Baileyville and Michael McKeown of Baileyville and his companion Jenn Johnson of Calais; his mother, Dorothea McKeown of Calais; two sisters, Dianne Graham and her husband David of Calais and Donna Barry and her husband Fred of Orrington; three brothers, Duane McKeown of Phoenix, AZ, Marvin McKeown and his wife Terry of Bath, and Barry McKeown of Phoenix, AZ; his mother-in-law, Mary Dougherty of St. Stephen, N.B.; a sister-in-law, Suzanne Daigle and her husband Jeff of St. Stephen, N.B.; brother-in-law, Raymond Dougherty and his wife Sally of Mayfield, N.B.; a special niece Shaylee Santerre-Daigle of Baileyville; his best friend, Mike Cousins of Cooper; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his canine companions, Shadow and Teddy; and his two feline companions, Sugar and Fenway. Services will be private. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Homes, Calais & Eastport.
