Donald Brown

Baileyville – Donald Brown, 82, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at his home in Baileyville with his family by his side. Donald was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on September 5, 1930, to the late John and Margaret (Stewart) Brown.

He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Canadian Army as a Paratrooper for 10 ½ years. On April 15, 1959, he married Sylvia Stadig. Donald retired from Georgia Pacific in 1985, where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Tina.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Sylvia Brown; his daughters Cleo Crandlemire and her husband Chris of Holden, Bonnie Troiani and her husband Joe of Baileyville, and Chrissy Moore and her husband Gary of Baileyville; a son, Donald Brown and his wife Christina of Hampton, N.H.; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Calli, Christopher, Todd, Lauren, Zachary, and Whitney; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doreen Hartford of Baileyville, and Dale Moyes and her husband Russell of Ontario; a brother Mert Brown of Calais; brother-in-law Bob Stadig and his wife Bonnie of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Donald’s life will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Woodland Cemetery in Baileyville. Donations in Donald’s memory may be made to the William T. Wren Post #23 American Legion, 98 Main St., Baileyville, ME 04694. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
