CALAIS – Donna Kay Kelley, 51, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Sunday, March 16, 2014 at a hospital in Bangor. Donna was born on July 26, 1962 to R.C. and Nancy (Wilcoxson) Collins in Columbus, Indiana where she spent her childhood. She met Jim Kelley in Oklahoma and they were married March 17, 1979. Shortly after marriage they moved to Calais to start a family. Donna worked various jobs but was most proud of her title as mother to her four daughters. She enjoyed playing card games, particularly cribbage and playing dice. She was a loving person who opened her home to many who knew her as a second mom. Donna was a laid back lady who knew how to enjoy life; spending time at her camp on Nash’s Lake, admiring sunflowers, eating chocolate covered raisins and most important enjoying her time with her grandchildren were just some of the things she cared about most. In addition to her mother, Donna was predeceased by her sister, Toni Spaugh and brother, Jeff Collins. She will be missed by her loving husband of 35 years, Jim Kelley; her four daughters, Tonya Stewart and her husband, Jonathan of Georgia, Candy Kelley-Welch and her husband, Randy, Tara Kelley and her fiancée Patrick Small, all of Calais and Kayla Barber and her husband Matt of St. Stephen; her father, R.C. Collins of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Cameron, Summer, Isaac and William; six siblings, Tami, Lee, Mark, Angie, Brenda and Greg; her father and mother-in-law, Jim and Jean Kelley of Holden and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 20th at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais.
