Obituary for Donna Jean Skippar

Pembroke – Donna Jean Skippar, 54, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Donna was born in Fredericton, N.B. Canada on January 13, 1956, daughter of Lawrence and Helen (O’Connor) Dutcher. At the age of twelve, Donna held her first job, working at Woolworth’s Five & Dime in St. John. Shortly after graduating high school; she went to work as a dispatcher for the St. John City Police Department; She also worked as a client representative for Merrill Lynch; in the Traffic Dept. for Irving where she arranged shipments to various destinations and computerized there paper system: she worked as a desk top publisher for Claymore Inc. in Longview, WA and in truck shipment brokerage at the border for Calais and St. Stephen first for Norman Jenson’s then with United Parcel Service. Donna will be lovingly remembered as being full of life, energetic and the type of person who made everyone smile when she walked in the room. She gave greater meaning to life with many of the people she held in her life. Donna had a special interest in the people around her. She graciously lent a hand where ever she could. She extended a hand when asked to or perceived a need in someone. She loved good humor and loved to laugh. Donna’s passing will leave a hole that is impossible to fill in many people’s lives. Donna was predeceased by her mother-in-law Lorayne Skippar; and a step mother-in-law Kathe Skippar. Surviving her are husband David Skippar of Pembroke ME; her parents Lawrence and Helen Dutcher of St. John; father-in-law Ed Skippar of Mountain, WI; four sisters, Linda Hachey and her husband Tom of St. John, Colleen Dutcher of St. John, Deborah Webber and her husband Michael of St. John, and Lori Kempster of Nova Scotia; two brothers, Michael Dutcher and his wife Colleen of Edmonton, Alberta, and Jeffrey Dutcher of St. John; sister-in-law Sue McDonald and her husband Bob of Tempe, AZ; brother-in-law Bruce Skippar and his wife Ann of Douglas, AZ, as well as three nieces and six nephews and 4 grand nieces and 1 grand nephew.
